Welcome to Mesa Alta Junior High

July 26, 2023

Dear Parents and Guardians -

I hope that this letter finds you and your family in good health and spirits. As the new principal of Mesa Alta Junior High, it is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I extend my warmest welcome to you all for the upcoming academic year. I am truly honored to join this wonderful community of dedicated educators, compassionate parents, and talented students.

With the new school year just around the corner, I would like to take this opportunity to share with you our core values and the vision we have for our students’ growth and development. At Mesa Alta, we firmly believe that a strong foundation in character education is essential for our students to excel not only academically but also as responsible and compassionate members of our society.

Our three key student values that underpin everything we do at our school are: Respect, Responsibility, and Safety. These values will be the pillars on which we build a positive and nurturing learning environment that fosters personal growth, academic achievement, and social well-being for each and every student.

We encourage our students to embrace respect for themselves, their peers, teachers, staff, and the broader community. Respect goes beyond simple politeness; it means valuing diversity, practicing empathy, and appreciating the thoughts and opinions of others. Through teaching respect, we aim to create a harmonious atmosphere where every individual feels valued and supported.

We strive to instill a sense of responsibility in our students for their actions, choices, and learning. Taking ownership of their education empowers them to set goals, work diligently, and persevere through challenges. We believe that responsible students grow into dependable and self-reliant individuals who can positively impact the world around them.

The safety and well-being of our students are of utmost importance to us. We are committed to maintaining a secure and nurturing environment where students can thrive without fear. Our school policies and procedures are designed to ensure their physical and emotional safety, promoting a culture of trust and openness.

Throughout the academic year, we will be integrating these values into our curriculum, school activities, and daily interactions. We will also work closely with parents and guardians to reinforce these values at home, fostering a seamless partnership between school and family. Together, we can build a strong support system that empowers our students to develop into respectful and responsible citizens.

In closing, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for entrusting your child’s education to us. At Mesa Alta, we are committed to providing a safe, supportive, and enriching environment that nurtures the growth of every student. I am excited about the possibilities the new school year holds, and I eagerly anticipate working together with you to create a brighter future for our children.
